RCN Members In Scotland Urged To Take Urgent Action In Vote On Revised Nhs Pay Offer

6th December 2022

From yesterday (5 December) RCN Scotland members working in the NHS can have their say on the Scottish government's revised pay offer for 2022-23.

Members eligible to take part in the ballot are being asked to accept or reject the Scottish government's latest offer.

Members working in NHS Scotland on Agenda for Change contracts are receiving emails and letters to enable them to vote. The ballot closes at midday on Monday 19 December.

The RCN is not making a recommendation on how members should vote in this ballot - it is up to members to decide. Read the formal offer HERE

Commenting on the launch of the consultation, Julie Lamberth, Chair of RCN Scotland Board, said: "The latest pay offer remains below our expectations and what we need to reward us properly for the role we play, a role that is crucial in delivering safe and effective care. But it is right that our members should decide whether to accept or reject what the Scottish government says is their ‘best and final' offer.

"I strongly urge all eligible members to read the formal pay offer to find out what it means for you individually and use your vote before the ballot closes in two weeks' time. If the majority of you accept the offer then the RCN Scotland Board position will be to accept. If the majority vote to reject the revised offer, the RCN will act on the clear mandate for strike action voted for by members in Scotland."
