We have al heard and probably quickly passed over when we hear that fuels duties have been frozen for another year. Well that may be coming to an end if the figures buried in the report from the Office for Budget Responsibility are borne out.

In a fairly lengthy report in one table Table A.6 Current receipts on page 60 shows an increase in fuel duty. Examining this table shows projections for other increases in a range of duties and taxes.

For any business using fuels as major part such buses, taxis delivery vehicles of all kinds this could be very significant.

So far there has been nothing said about another freeze on fuels duties. This cold mean an increase of 23% or 12p on petrol and diesel.

Why the silence on this important cost for many businesses not to mention the affect for everyone as another cost of living increase.

is the projected increase from April 2023
