Teacher Strikes In Scotland May Be Off If A New Pay Offer Accepted

A new pay offer being discussed is

A 7% rise covering 2022/23
A 5% rise from this April.
A further 2% rise in January 2024, to last until next August.

The previous offer was rejected
The most recent pay offer to teachers was 11.5% over two years. This included a 6% rise for 2022-23, backdated to last April, and a 5.5% increase for 2023-24.

A further series of rolling strike dates has only recently been announced.

Unions will need to consult members on the new offer but hope are high thing could move rapidly to accept and cancel further strike actions.
