Will Scotland be affected by the rail strikes?

While the strike does not involve ScotRail staff, the industrial action will have a knock-on effect for services as Network Rail staff occupy critical safety roles. The union, which represents 40,000 workers across Network Rail rejected offers from employers.

Strikes suspended in Scotland
The RMT trade union has announced that planned strike action by its members at Network Rail on Thursday, 16 March 2023 as well as action short of a strike - meaning no rest day working and an overtime ban for its maintenance and operations grades - on a series of dates between Friday, 17 March and Saturday, 29 April has now been suspended.
