Save Rail ticket Offices Campaign Success After 750,000 People Object

Today the Government has u-turned and withdrawn all plans to close rail ticket offices, following the passenger watchdogs Transport Focus and London Travelwatch objecting to the proposals in their entirety.

This marks a massive victory in the campaign to Save Ticket Offices, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultations, attended demos, wrote to politicians and shared the campaign on social media. We couldn't have achieved this resounding victory without the support of you all.

An unprecedented 750,000 people responded to the public consultations, making it the biggest ever response to a public consultation.

This overwhelming opposition has forced the Government to scrap its plans.

Today's announcement shows the power that we have when we come together and make our voices heard.
