ScotRail confirms services unaffected by ASLEF industrial action

ScotRail has confirmed that its services will be unaffected when members of the train drivers' union, ASLEF, take part in industrial action.

Members of ASLEF at various train operating companies across the UK plan to take strike action on Saturday, 2 December and Sunday, 3 December, and again between Tuesday, 5 December and Friday, 8 December.

The trade union's members at those operators will also withdraw from non-contractual overtime between Friday, 1 December and Saturday, 9 December 2023.

ScotRail services will not be impacted on these dates as the industrial action is a result of a dispute between the trade union and other train operating companies across the UK. It does not involve any ScotRail staff.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said, "This dispute does not involve any ScotRail staff. It is between ASLEF and other train operators, which means we’ll be able to operate as normal when the union members at those operators take industrial action between Friday, 1 and Saturday, 9 December.

"We would encourage anyone travelling to plan their journey in advance, as trains may be busier than normal due to customers of other operators travelling with ScotRail."
