German energy company RWE has confirmed plans to start construction work on a third Scottish onshore wind farm site this year as part of a £6.9bn investment programme across the UK.
The 63 megawatts Strathy Wood project in Caithness is the latest to begin full construction, with pre-construction work now underway.
Main contractor Farrans is working at two other sites at Enoch Hill in East Ayrshire and Camster II in Caithness.
Strathy Wood will have 11 turbines generating electricity to power 68,000 homes and will be completed by 2025.
