Roads Take The Big Budget Hit - Caithness Faces Cut Of £2.4 Million In Roads Spending In 2024/25

THE amount of money which will be spent on Caithness roads in the coming financial year is expected to drop from £3 million to about £600,000.

The £2.4 million reduction was highlighted by Thurso and Northwest Caithness councillor Matthew Reiss at the most recent meeting of the Thurso Community Council.

He said the figure for Highland Council in 2024/ 25 would be about £8 million compared to £20 million for the last three years. The decrease is the result of budget cuts.
