The average house price in Highland was £208,000 in January 2024 (provisional), up slightly 1.9% from January 2023. This was lower than the rise in Scotland (4.8%) over the same period.

Rent data for Scottish areas are for 'broad rental market areas'. Highland is in the rental area of Highland and Islands.

Private rent prices rose slightly to an average of £660 in February 2024, an annual increase of 1.7% from £649 in February 2023. This was lower than the rise in Scotland (10.9%) over the year.

The average price paid by first-time buyers was £166,000 in January 2024 (provisional). This was 1.9% higher than the average of £163,000 in January 2023 (revised).

For homes bought with a mortgage, the average house price was £206,000 in January 2024 (provisional). This was 2.3% higher than the average of £201,000 in January 2023 (revised).
