Martin Lewis Makes Winter Fuel Payment "plea" To All Pensioners Ahead Of Reeves Meeting

Another reminder for pensioners to claim pension credit which may qualify people for the Winter Heating Allowance. This is important as not only are pensioner losing the Heating allowance but energy prices will go up in October and again in January 2025 - a triple whammy.

While everyone may not need the allowance if they have a high income for those at he margin it needs some form of taper. Alternatively why not give it to all pensioners bat have HMRC tax it. that way the lowest income will benefit if they pay no or little income tax.

HMRC already knows pensioners incomes so why cannot they identify those who may need it.
