£170K parking income generated for Skye and Raasay Area Committee investment
At today's meeting (Monday 25 November 2024) of the Skye and Raasay Area Committee, Members noted the year to date figure of £170K parking income generated (after costs) to be added to the Skye and Raasay Area Committee digressionary budget.
Skye and Raasay Area Committee Chair, Cllr John Finlayson said: "It is encouraging that the local area share of parking income continues to rise, which of course is in line with increasing number of tourists visiting Skye and Raasay year on year. The 50% of income after costs received by the area to support investment across the ward is important to ensuring key infrastructure projects can take place and the success of this is evidenced in different projects in all parts of Skye & Raasay.
"At this stage it is important to continue to work closely with Officers from different services and with local communities to ensure that any investment made, supports the aspirations of our communities and the many other different challenges being faced right across the area.
“As a committee we would like to acknowledge our gratitude to Parking Enforcement Officers, and wider staff within the service who support traffic management and continue to work to improve parking."
