Civil servants around the world in the firing line - UK, USA now Canada joins the fray

Civil servants who deliver a huge range of services in al countries seem to be at the forefront for governments wanting to balance their budgets. Who first comes to mind for some people are remote mandarins on fat cat salaries. This of course is far from the truth but employee in many departments will be wondering if the axe will fall on health , education or a wide range of other services.

26 March is the date everyone is now waiting for when Rachel Reeves will make the Spring statement that is being heralded as not a budget even though it is going to set out plans to reduce spending.

With so many government looking to cut spending and at the same time increase defence spending it is maybe to early to speculate if the spending will balance out in budgets but it looks like reductions in civil servants are bound to be one result.
