Most US consumers now expect a recession over the next year, with the University of Michigan reporting that 66% of Americans expect unemployment to rise.
The last time we saw a figure that high was the 2009 crash. Suggesting we're experiencing the biggest bout of consumer pessimism around the economy in decades. Consumers are pessimistic due to economic uncertainty surrounding tariffs, higher inflation expectations, and the fear that they will lose their job in 2025.

Then reflect on the UK situation where we also have more and more possibilities for Government employee reductions. We also have food price rises. Then look at house prices where like USA we might have a bubble soon to burst.
