28th July 2025

Jeremy Corbyn's newly launched political movement—currently operating under the working title "Your Party" has seen an explosive surge in support.

Over 500,000 people have signed up as of 27 July 2025 in a matter of days.

The party surpassed:
As of mid-2025, the Labour Party's membership has dropped to approximately 309,000, down from 348,500 in July 2024—a decline of 11.4%.

Scottish Greens: ~7,700 members
Total UK Greens: ~73,000 members
Leadership Election: Ongoing, with results due 2 September 2025

Lib Dems - Estimated Membership: 74,000

Corbyns new party is now one of the largest political movements in the UK by membership.

What's Driving the Surge?
Disillusionment with Labour under Keir Starmer

Strong grassroots messaging focused on:

Anti-poverty and wealth redistribution

Public ownership of utilities

Pro-Palestinian foreign policy

Co-founder Zarah Sultana has played a key role in mobilizing support

Electoral Ambitions
Aiming for 25% of the vote in future elections

Planning a founding conference in autumn 2025

Preparing to challenge Labour in local elections in May 2026.

Labour Membership Declining Fast
Loss Rate: Labour has been losing one member every 10 minutes, or roughly 152 members per day

Youth Membership Collapse: Youth membership has plummeted from 100,000 five years ago to just 30,000

Transparency Issues: Labour has stopped sharing membership data with its National Executive Committee, citing concerns over leaks.

Why Are Members Leaving?
According to NEC representatives and reports:

Discontent with Keir Starmer's leadership

Controversial policies like:

Winter fuel payment cuts

Two-child benefit cap

Reluctance to criticise Donald Trump

Perceived erosion of party democracy, especially around local candidate selections.
