Natural Retreats is currently in the final throes of a £6m redevelopment of the village at John O' Groats as a premium tourist destination with the creation of 23 unique standalone holiday Residences, due to be completed in Summer 2012. We are now looking to engage suppliers in the community to start working together to achieve our vision for the area.

"A large part of our ethos is about driving local benefits by being based in the community, from sourcing local produce for the hampers to employing a local workforce - customers, suppliers and the local community are all positively affected by Natural Retreats. To give you an example we provide local produce hampers for our guests to enjoy, alone this has put £80,000 per year in each of the different locations we operate."

"At John O' Groats we are looking to do something slightly different. We want to right fully restore and regenerate the area so tourists in particular stay for much longer and enjoy everything the region has to offer. We are also creating a local community store where we are looking for local produce suppliers to work with us on a co-operative basis."

We are looking to meet suppliers from all different walks. The specific areas we are looking at are:

- Excursions and Activities in the Highlands Area

- All local produce suppliers (food and otherwise)

"We would love to meet you and therefore would be delighted to invite you to the Mackays Hotel in Wick on Tuesday 6th March. The day will be broken into two sessions; the morning beginning at 9am and the afternoon at 1.30pm. Please arrive 30 minutes prior for registration. We will provide morning/afternoon refreshments and you will have the opportunity to hear the Natural Retreats vision at 9am and 1.30pm delivered by our CEO Matthew Spence in the morning and COO Ewan Kearney in the afternoon."

"We then have experts from each of our different business disciplines to speak with you about working together in 2012 and beyond."

Invitations are going out to a number of suppliers but if you do not receive one and would be interested in finding out more or to book a slot in the morning or afternoon contact Liz Heal, Project Manager on 01625 416443 or l.heal[AT]
