Heather Cox Richardson (born October 8, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois) is a distinguished American historian and a Professor of History at Boston College, where her courses focus on the American Civil War, Reconstruction, the American West, and the Plains.

In recent times she has gained a huge audience by explaining the current political issues particularly in relation to president Trump.

She is not a politician and uses her intellectual capacity to drill down to what is happening.
