Get Involved With The Year of Creative Scotland 2012

28th March 2012

The Year of Creative Scotland 2012 celebrates Scotland's cultural and creative vibrancy and provides a special opportunity for us all to work together to promote Scotland's cultural and creative uniqueness.

VisitScotland has developed a toolkit to help businesses promote and capitalise on the opportunities this themed year offers - you can access the toolkit at www.visitscotland.org/yearofcreativescotland-toolkit.

Rabbie's Small Group Tours and SYHA Hostelling Scotland are just two examples of businesses who are putting on events and tours that fit into the themed year.

Rabbie's Small Group Tours
Rabbie's is launching a brand new tour for photographers this summer as part of the Year of the Creative Scotland 2012.

The new West Coast Photography Tour - Scotland in Slow Motion includes the opportunity for people to visit a hand-picked selection of Scotland's greatest natural and historic assets.

The tour includes the dramatic mountain scenery of Glencoe and the Highlands, stunning seascapes and sunsets on the West Coast, fascinating towns and villages, beautiful woodlands and waterfalls, historic castles, and friendly local people.

For more details about this tour please see www.rabbies.com.

SYHA Hostelling Scotland
SYHA Hostelling Scotland have put together a weekend of Celtic story-telling and songs at their Loch Ossian Youth Hostel, from 28 - 30 September 2012.

The legendary figure of Ossian was a bard - an inspirational poet, singer and artist, and this special weekend is an opportunity to enjoy these stories beside Loch Ossian.

The featured story tellers on the weekend are Essie Stewart who is a Gaelic storyteller with a strong grounding in Gaelic and Traveller tradition and Claire Hewitt who has always looked to travelling and tribal people of the Earth for inspiration.
