How What Is In The Budget Becomes Law

It may seem to some that things in the budget are immediately done and dusted but the system to get everything legal takes a little more time.

Many items are passed on the nod at later parliamentary meetings but the debate takes time to go through it all in the days following the budget.

For those of you with an interest in the process the Library of the House of Commons published on 4 December 2025 a Briefing Budget 2025 and Finance No. 2 Bill 2024-26

The bill's second reading is scheduled for 16 December.
