TAKE OFF FOR EUROPCAR AT WICK
23rd July 2012
Europe's leading car hire provider Europcar is to open Wick Airport's first car hire location, offering improved service for passengers.
Airport Station Manager William Sutherland said the new car hire location would improve the airport's appeal to business users and inbound visitors.
He said: "We are delighted to welcome Europcar, the leading car hire provider in Europe, to open Wick Airport's first on site car hire facility. This is good news for the local economy and for our passengers. It will make it more convenient for passengers using Wick Airport, particularly business travellers who regularly use the airport, and for holidaymakers arriving into the area.
"There is a huge amount of business and tourism development in the Caithness area, including the redevelopment of John O'Groats and the ongoing investment in renewables. With passenger numbers at Wick growing at around 9% a year, the arrival of Europcar will hopefully help to support further growth in the economy."
Trudy Morris, Chief Executive of Caithness Chamber of Commerce said: "We are delighted to see Europcar opening a new hire station at Wick Airport. We see this as a real positive move and something that has been long needed. Now business travellers and tourists can book car hire from anywhere in the UK and pick up and drop off their cars in Wick."
The Europcar location is now open to business and leisure travellers and offers a wide choice of vehicles. Customers can collect and drop-off vehicles from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
"By opening at Wick Airport, we are demonstrating our on-going investment in our network, ensuring we continue to provide both leisure and business travellers with the ultimate in choice and flexibility," explained Ken McCall, Managing Director, Europcar Group UK. "We are keen to support the local community as well as visitors by offering the ultimate in choice and flexibility at Wick Airport so that business and leisure travellers can to get on the road as quickly as possible."
