The U S Federal Reserve has held interest rates steady, and the Bank of England is expected to announce a similar hold later at midday.
The Fed kept interest rates unchanged at 3.50%–3.75% at its meeting on 29 July 2026, marking its fifth consecutive hold. Three policymakers dissented, preferring a 0.25% hike.

Bank of England — Expected Decision Today
The Bank of England (BoE) is widely expected to hold Bank Rate at 3.75% at its meeting today (30 July 2026).
Economists expect a 7–2 vote to keep rates unchanged.
Markets see no real chance of a hike today, though they price in possible increases later in 2026.
The BoE’s last published decision (18 June 2026) also held rates at 3.75%.
The official announcement is due at 11:00 GMT, with a press conference at 12:00 GMT.
