An amber heat-health alert is now in place across all regions in England.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has escalated the heat-health alert (HHA) for the North East from yellow to amber, effective from 9am on Tuesday 11 August until 9pm on Friday 14 August.
The existing amber alerts in other regions remain unchanged.
