Retailers backward in coming forward - Skillsmart Retail makes final call on enterprising retailers to demonstrate workplace skills

Skillsmart Retail is calling on talented individuals working in the retail sector to demonstrate their workplace skills and enter themselves or promising individuals into the Enterprising Young Brit awards before the 23 October closing date.

The Enterprising Young Brit Awards is a national competition which aims to recognise young people who have developed the necessary skills to turn their ideas into reality.

Each of the five categories, Business Entrepreneur, Social and Environmental, Innovation at work, Teen (aged 13 - 19) and Creative carries a top prize of �1000. Part of the Make Your Mark - start talking ideas campaign, the competition is open to anyone aged 30 and under who has made their idea happen in a new, innovative and inspiring way.

Anne Richardson, Skillsmart Retail's Careers Strategy Manager said, 'This is an ideal opportunity for young people working in retail to gain recognition for their achievements and promote the opportunities with which the retail industry has provided them. Skillsmart Retail is calling on talented retail workers to enter the competition and demonstrate how much a career in retail has to offer.'
