Caithness Chamber Of Commerce Supports A Fair Tax On Flying Petition

Caithness Chamber of Commerce has put is support behind a campaign to reduce taxes on passengers flying in the UK and has sent out this message to members to boost the online petition.

As you may know, the UK levies the highest air passenger tax of any country in the world - a departure tax on all flights costing up to £188 per person on some journeys. This tax is having a direct impact on inbound tourism and on businesses' ability to conduct commerce overseas.

We'd like to ask you to consider lending your backing to a new petition - which already has the backing of nearly 500 businesses - calling for APD reform. You can find the petition at http://www.afairtaxonflying.org/business.
