What better way to spend a week or two in the far north than by renting a cottage. Caithness Cottages have two excellent cottages available and they are sure to be in demand with a huge variety of events taking place in the county this year.
Whether you are one of the many surfers who are heading north or out to see the castles of Caithness anyone can appreciate that having a base with all facilities can make for relaxing stay.
North Bilbster Cottage, Near Wick has everything you might need. With surfing becoming more and more popular there will also shortly be a drying room for wet suits.
Caithness has been getting busier over the past few years and this year will see more events than ever including the O'Neill Surfing Championships at East Thurso and Brims 27 April to 1st May 2007.
May sees -
The Caithness and Sutherland Walking Festival 5th - 19th May with many interesting guided walks in Caithness and Sutherland
June is expecting a huge influx of visitors for the Moray Firth Flotilla which this year will sail from Wick after weekend at Wick Harbour. 30 historic fishing vessels will be joined by a fleet of over 100 modern sailing vessels of all sizes to sail down the east coast calling at all the small harbour on the way to Portsoy That same weekend a continental market will run in the centre of Wick where wide range of goods from European countries will be on sale.
Caithness has several local galas, and three Highland Games and this year the county show will take place in Wick at the end of July.
