New Head Teachers Appointed in Highland

The Highland Council is pleased to announce the recent appointment of 8 Head and 4 Acting Head Teachers across the region's schools in the north and south education areas.

All the new teachers will be in their posts by the new term in August 2018.

The appointments are as follows.

In the North Education Area:

• Hannah Flavell has been appointed as Head Teacher of Thurso High School.

• Jacqui Budge has been appointed as Head Teacher of Miller Academy Primary.

• Fiona McLeod has been appointed as Head Teacher of the Halkirk and Reay Primary Cluster.

South Education Area:

• Beth Rodgers has been appointed as Head Teacher at Bishop Eden Primary.

• Gavin MacLean has been appointed as Rector at Fortrose Academy.

• Gordon Stewart has been appointed as Head Teacher at Charleston Academy.

• Martine Kelly has been appointed as Head Teacher at Croy Primary.

• Scott Callander has been appointed as Drakies Primary Head Teacher.

• Johnny Croall has been appointed as Acting Head Teacher of Millburn Academy.

• Mina Johnstone and Julie MacLeod have been appointed as Acting Head Teachers (job-share) at Balnain Primary.

• Suzanne Dunbar has been appointed as Acting Head Teacher at Farr Primary.

Where internal appointments have been made by the Council and Head Teacher posts have been vacated, the Council is putting temporary Acting Head Teachers in place until full replacement and recruitment of new Head Teachers is complete.
