Scotgov Must ‘crack Down' On Holiday Lets After Landlord Fined £7500, Tenants Union Urges

Green MSP Andy Wightman says government inaction on short-term lets is ‘inflicting misery' on tenants.

Landlord fined £7,500 after using ‘sham' holiday-let lease to limit tenants' rights.

Living Rent say this will set a precedant to prevent other landlords doing the same.

Green MSP Andy Wightman and Living Rent both urge action from Scottish Government to regulate the sector.

The SNP voted against regulation of short-term lets in the Planning Bill this summer.

FOLLOWING A legal ruling this week which saw a ‘sham’ holiday-let landlord fined £7,500, tenants’ union Living Rent has called for regulation of short-term lets.
