10 minutes from Castle of Mey and 15 minutes from the Gills Bay ferry for trips to Orkney. The house is situated off the A836 between Castletown and John O'Groats.

A perfect base to see Dunnet Head - the most northerly point on the UK mainland. The new Seadrift Centre overlooks Dunnet Bay with its long sweeping beach and sand dunes. Angling is available at nearby St John's Loch and golf is within easy reach at any of the four golf courses at Wick, Thurso Lybster and Reay. If walking is for you then there is plenty to see from the coastal views or on an organised local Ranger walk to see wildlife. The Castlehill flagstone works are also an interesting place to visit and is laid out with story boards telling the story of the Caithness Flagstone industry.
