The library at North Highland College is availalable to local people to borrow books and use the computers when they are free. Students will generally have first call on the computers.
Youcan borrow 2 books at a time - There is a wide variety of study books with quite a large history section - a small fiction section, sections of care, psychology, art, career books.
People can get computer access in quiet times such as holidays, Friday afternoons and Wednesday evenings until 9 pm and Thursdays until 7.45 pm.
The main library is located in the lower area of the Learning Resource centre in the Thurso campus and provides a friendly and relaxed environment. We also have smaller libraries in the Alness and Dornoch campuses.
The Learning Resource Assistants can help you with any enquiry/request for information, both from existing stock and online sources. The libraries are stocked with a wide range of resources, books, eBooks, journals and daily newspapers. We also have a fiction collection.
There is a quiet study space available including IT services, study desks and an easy seating area.
The cyber caf� is located just outside the library. Meet friends, read, watch TV on the plasma screen and relax in our seating area with comfy sofas.
Other services available in the library are:
�Self-service photocopying
�A wide selection of stationery for sale at very competitive prices
�Use of laminator, binding machine and various other stationary items.
