Renewable Heat Scheme For Homeowners

A new £4.5 million cashback incentive to help people install renewable and energy efficiency measures in their homes has been announced by the Scottish Government.   Homeowners will be able to apply for 75% cashback up to the value of £7,500 towards the cost of a renewable heating system and a further 40% cashback up to £6,000 for energy efficiency measures.

Jobcentre Guidance On New National Covid Restrictions

On 31 October 2020, the Prime Minister announced that the Government will be introducing new national COVID-19 measures in England to protect the NHS and save lives.   This means from 5 November 2020 until 2 December 2020 in England, the following updated jobcentre guidance will apply to customers, and will ensure essential support is provided whilst keeping colleagues and customers safe.

Pfizer/BioNTech published positive efficacy results from Phase 3 studies of their potential COVID-19 vaccine.   Pfizer/BioNTech today (Monday 9 November) published positive efficacy results from Phase 3 studies of their potential Covid-19 vaccine, showing it to be more than 90% effective in preventing coronavirus in participants.

Brexit - Hm Treasury Equivalence Decisions For The EEA States - 9 November 2020

On 9 November 2020 the Chancellor announced that the UK will be granting a package of equivalence decisions to the European Economic Area (‘EEA') States, including the Member States of the European Union (‘EU').  To provide clarity and stability to industry and reflecting the Government’s commitment to be as open as possible HM Treasury announced as many decisions as we can in advance of the end of the Transition Period provided for under the agreement on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU (the Transition Period) on 31 December 2020.

Travel Ban Implemented To Protect Public Health Following Denmark Covid-19 Mink Outbreak

From 4am, Saturday 7 November visitors from Denmark arriving in the UK will be denied entry.   visitors from Denmark arriving in the UK from 4am Saturday 7 November will be denied entry British Nationals, visa holders and permanent residents who have travelled to Denmark in the last 14 days will have to self-isolate along with their household further measures regarding freight to be announced over the weekend The government has responded urgently to the latest developments by bringing in a number of measures.

Measures to protect UK from new COVID-19 strain extended

Freight exemption removed so UK haulage drivers arriving from Denmark are now required to self-isolate on entry to England.   exemption for non-UK resident freight drivers removed so those who have travelled from or through Denmark in the last 14 days can no longer enter UK.
