Lift Supervisor

Hugh Simpson (Contractors) Ltd. is the largest crane hire and heavy lifting services company based in Caithness. A post has arisen for a LIFT SUPERVISOR to join our team on a full time basis.

Duties include:
• Interact with the lift team, customer representatives and other parties affected by the lifting operations in a professional manner to ensure only registered operators and appointed staff are involved in any lifting operation and any lifting equipment has the relevant compliance and safety certification.
• Overseeing lifting operations and ensuring compliance with BS7121, LOLER (1998) and other relevant laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all those affected by the operations.
• Working as part of a team, Co-ordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with the Lift Plan.
• Carry out pre- lift checks and required ongoing monitoring to ensure it is safe for any operations involving mobile cranes.
• Briefing other members of the lifting team of the specific features of the planned lifting operation at the start and throughout as required if the lift plan or personnel change.
• Being present during all lifting operations and taking suitable measures to rectify unsafe conditions.
• Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned by the Appointed person / Line manager to respond effectively to the requirements of the company.

We expect you to have a CPCS/ NPORS CSCS card or willing to work towards achieving this qualification and full UK driving licence. Slinger/ Signaller and/ or other construction plant related categories would be beneficial.

Please note- the applicant may need to work also on sites out with the county- ability to travel (transport and accommodation will be provided) and work flexible hours is essential for this post.
