Earnings And Employment From Pay As You Earn Real Time Information, Uk: March 2023

Early estimates for February 2023 indicate that the number of payrolled employees rose by 2.3% compared with February 2022, a rise of 684,000 employees; the number of payrolled employees was up by 3.6% since February 2020, a rise of 1,040,000.   Payrolled employment increased by 98,000 employees (0.3%) in February 2023 when compared with January 2023, though this should be treated as a provisional estimate and is likely to be revised when more data are received next month.

£83 Million Investment At RAF Lossiemouth Creates More Than 100 Uk Jobs

Scottish business McLaughlin & Harvey Construction Limited have been awarded a contract to build a new facility ready for the arrival of the UK E-7 Wedgetail fleet at RAF Lossiemouth.   The new cutting-edge surveillance fleet will be housed in infrastructure at the Scottish base sitting alongside the recently completed Atlantic Building, from which the UK's fleet of nine Poseidon MRA Mk1 aircraft already operate.

Increased Support For Students In Scotland - Uplift In Bursaries And Loan Packages

Financial support available to undergraduate students will rise by £900 from the start of the 2023-24 academic year.   Estranged students in higher education and other undergraduate learners with the lowest household income will see their maximum support package increase from £8,100 to £9,000 per year, as the ceiling for all student loan applications is uplifted by £900.

Serco NorthLink Ferries staff have raised over £4,800 in support of Clan, a charity supporting those affected by cancer across north-east Scotland.   Staff on board and ashore - led by Kathryn Fullerton, Retail Supervisor on the MV Hjaltland - carried out fundraising activities over the course of last year to gather funds for the charity.
