Gdp Monthly Estimate, Uk: July 2021

Gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.1% in July 2021, and remains 2.1% below its pre-coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic level (February 2020).   Production output increased by 1.2% in July 2021 and was the main contributor to GDP growth; boosted by the reopening of an oil field production site, which was previously temporarily closed for planned maintenance.

Official Announcement about New Tax changes From HMRC

Yesterday the government announced tax changes to fund £12 billion a year to be spent on the NHS and social care across the UK.   National Insurance contributions (NICs) will increase by 1.25% for one year only for employees, employers and the self-employed from‌‌ ‌April‌‌ ‌2022.

Scottish shopworkers speak out about violence, threats and abuse - Usdaw welcomes new protection of workers law

Retail trade union Usdaw has welcomed a new law to protect Scottish shopworkers from violence, threats and abuse coming into force on 24 August 2021.  The union is urging shopworkers to report incidents to ensure the legislation is able to have an effect on ever increasing incidents.

Long Covid Support Fund

Health Secretary Humza Yousaf has announced a new £10 million Long COVID Support Fund to help health boards respond to the condition.   The announcement follows Mr Yousaf meeting with a range of healthcare professionals at Eastwood Health and Care Centre in East Renfrewshire and speaking with patient Pamela Bell who has been receiving support for long COVID since she contracted the virus almost a year ago.

Proposals for 5 priority school projects agreed at Council

Members at a meeting on 9 September 2021 of the Highland Council agreed the scope, budget, phasing and timescale for 5 priority school projects including Beauly Primary, Culloden Academy, Dunvegan Primary, Park Primary, and St Clements School.  It was also agreed that these projects are to be incorporated into the Council's current capital programme.

PORTREE, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (September, 6th) sold 3,066 store lambs & feeding sheep.   Lambs (2,722) averaged £56.01 (+£12.39 on the year) and sold to £101.50 gross for a pair of Texel crosses from 44 Borneskitaig, Kilmuir.

HMRC Warns Students Of Scams - Bogus Tax Rebates and more

University students taking part-time jobs are at increased risk of falling victim to scams, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is warning.   Higher numbers of students going to university this year means more young people may choose to take on part-time work.
