The work of The Highland Council's Criminal Justice Social Work Service has been praised by Members of the Council's Care, Learning and Housing Committee. The drive to increase the supply of affordable homes will be supported by £826 million through the 2019/20 Scottish Budget. The funding will be made available through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme and is a £70 million increase on the current year.

The average weekly rent charged by The Highland Council to its 13,411 council house tenants is set to increase by 3% for the coming financial year 2019/20. The average weekly rent will rise from £73.22 to £75.42 - an increase of £2.20 per week.

Bullocks (400) averaged 212.2p and sold to 263.8p per kilo for a 235kg British Blue cross from Shewglie Farmers, Glenurquhart, and £1,295 gross for a pen of 629kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from South Balkeith, Tain. Heifers (237) averaged 212.9p and sold to 243.5p per kilo for a pair of 310kg Limousin crosses from Wester Tomloan, Ardclach, and £1,185 gross for a 580kg Charolais cross from The Cloy, Fortrose.
More patients will have access to online outpatient services after NHS Highland gave the green light to expand the programme.
