The latest Royal Bank of Scotland Report on Jobs survey signalled a fresh decline in permanent staff appointments across Scotland during December.  The pace of reduction was the strongest since April, as growing economic uncertainty weighed on hiring decisions and discouraged workers from seeking new roles.

Post Offices See Record Amount Of Cash Withdrawn In Run-up To Christmas

Post Offices saw all time record for personal cash withdrawals on a single day - Friday 22 December - with £62.4 million taken out over the counter.   Figure this year beats previous record from last Christmas by over £10 million when £51.5 million was withdrawn over the counter (Friday 23 December 2022).

£300 million UK investment to support domestic production of fuel required to power next-generation nuclear reactors.   First European country to launch high-assay low enriched uranium (HALEU) programme with landmark £300 million investment Programme will produce enriched uranium needed for next generation of reactors and provide jobs and investment in North West England Investment will end Russia's reign as the only commercial producer of HALEU The UK will become the first country in Europe to launch a high-tech HALEU nuclear fuel programme, strengthening supply for new nuclear projects and driving Putin further out of global energy markets.

Bankers Out Of Touch - Natwest Boss Makes 'Staggering' Claim That It's 'Not That Difficult' To Buy First Home

NatWest's Sir Howard Davies, was asked by BBC Radio 4's Today programme when it would be easier for people in the UK to get on the property ladder and in response he said: "I don't think it is that difficult".   NatWest's chairman has sparked a backlash after claiming it was not "that difficult" to get on the property ladder in the UK today - and Brits are not happy.
