Job Summary
GMG Energy is expanding, and we’re looking for a hands‑on, motivated Sawmill Operator to help drive our wood production operations forward. What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll play a key part in the full manufacturing process, from handling raw timber to delivering finished wood products. Every day will bring variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact.
You will:
Operate and oversee sawmill machinery and production lines
Optimise the use of raw materials and minimise waste
Produce high‑quality wood products ready for commercial sale
Support drying operations and wider workshop tasks
Work closely with a committed team to meet daily and weekly production goals
Maintain strong safety, quality, and efficiency standards throughout all operations
What We’re Looking For
You’re someone who enjoys practical, physical work and takes pride in doing the job well. You’ll bring:
Experience in wood manufacturing or a similar production environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
A solid understanding of Health & Safety and environmental best practice
Familiarity with wood manufacturing systems
Experience with lean manufacturing (a bonus, not essential)
A strong work ethic, problem‑solving mindset, and results‑driven attitude
