Award Boost For Thurso Engineering Firm - Envision Engineering And Design Limited
A Thurso based engineering firm has secured an industry accreditation award that will boost its reputation internationally and help attract new business. Envision Engineering and Design Limited created five jobs when it was set up less than a year ago by Liam Sutherland and Stuart Anderson, both of whom are originally from Caithness.27/6/2016

Seal of approval for Caithness engineering skills
An Aberdeen oil and gas company that located its manufacturing operation to Lybster in Caithness says it is delighted with the results. Torque machine manufacturer Enerquip secured £60,000 investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) towards the £240,000 initial capital equipment and employment costs at Lybster.16/6/2015

International engineering firm Enterprise Engineering Services (EES), which has a base in Caithness, is one of the first fabrication companies to achieve the Welding Fabricator Certification Scheme accreditation, BS EN ISO 3834. Dounreay and Nuvia Ltd collaborate on new beach monitoring vehicles
Dounreay's beach monitoring fleet has a new look with the addition of new vehicles - the Metrac H5 all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The H5s are fitted with the same GroundhogTM Evolution monitoring equipment as the current ATVs, so this is a change of looks but not a change of function.4/12/2013

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority recognised the role played by a Wick-based manufacturer at Dounreay in its national awards for the UK supply chain. Kongsberg Maritime Ltd supplied a camera capable of working in the harsh radiation environment inside the Dounreay Fast Reactor.4/12/2013

NATHAN WINS TOP APPRENTICE AWARD Nathan Mackay, 20 from Watten scooped the Scotland Apprentice of the Year award at last weeks National Skills Academy for Nuclear Annual Awards ceremony in Manchester. Prototype Fast Reactor (PFR) Scrap Metal Helps Local Trials Facility
Scrap metal from the strip-out of the Prototype Fast Reactor (PFR) secondary sodium circuit cells is being re-used by UKAEA at the T3uk purpose built trials centre at Janetstown, on the outskirts of Thurso. The redundant steel sections, once used to support pipework within the cells, were identified for re-use to assist with other Dounreay decommissioning projects.15/3/2005
