DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April, 8th) sold 1,120 Aberdeen Angus, native bred and continental store cattle in a special show and sale and 25 OTM cattle.

Aberdeen Angus bullocks (265) averaged 218.0p and sold to 241.4p per kilo for a pair of 290kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from 1 Kinloid, Arisaig and £1,195 gross for a pen of 570kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Ardjachie, Tain

Aberdeen Angus heifers (152) averaged 200.5p and sold to 214.9p per kilo for a pair of 442kg Aberdeen Angus crosses form North Calder, Halkirk and £1,070 gross for a pen of 524kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Ardjachie.

Aberdeen Angus young bulls (9) sold to 214.8p per kilo for a pair of 277kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Ardross Castle, Alness, and £840 gross for a 445kg Aberdeen Angus cross from 1 Raddery, Fortrose.

Other native bullocks (75) averaged 206.7p and sold to 242.6p per kilo for a pair of 305kg Beef Shorthorn crosses from Dell of Killiehuntly, Kingussie and £1,230 gross for a 615kg Beef Shorthorn from Balliefurth Farm Grantown on Spey.

Other native heifers (49) averaged 198.7p and sold to 235.5p per kilo for a pair of 310kg Saler cross from Croft Martin, Kingussie and £1,100 gross for a pair of 592kg Beef Shorthorn cross from Balliefurth Farm.

Continental bullocks (351) averaged 217.1p and sold to 255.6p per kilo for a pen of 270kg Charolais crosses from Tummel Bridge, Pitlochry and £1,280 gross for a 645kg Limousin cross from 7 Kinerras, Kiltarlity.

Continental heifers (211) averaged 216.5p and sold to 262.7p per kilo for a 335kg Limousin cross from Westburn, Thurso and £1,190 gross for a 545kg Limousin cross from 7 Kinerras.

Continental young bulls (8) sold to 194.2p per kilo for a 505kg Limousin cross from 3 Easter Kinkell, Dingwall and £770 gross for a 410kg Stabiliser cross from 31 Strath, Gairloch.

OTM cattle (25) sold to 164.8p per kilo for a 455kg Limousin cross cow from Calrossie mains, Nigg and £1,130 gross for an 865kg Limousin cross cow from Clury Farm, Dulnain.

"All classes of stock sold to a more than reasonable average given the current circumstances.'
