DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April 15th) sold 486 store cattle and 17 OTM cattle.
Store bullocks (266) averaged 221.4p and sold to 256.4p per kg for a 195kg Charolais cross from Whitebog, Rosemarkie, and £1,070 gross for a pen of 436kg Charolais crosses from Glaick, Ardross.
Store heifers including Hi-Health (212) averaged 220.3p and sold to 401.2p per kg for a pair of 172kg Simmental crosses from 2 Scallasaig, Glenelg, and £1,400 gross for a pair of 545kg and a 595kg Simmental crosses both from Broomton, Auldearn.
Young bulls (8) averaged 208.0p and sold to 252.6p per kg for a 190kg Limousin cross from 2 Torvaig, Portree and £1,000 gross for a 555kg Aberdeen Angus from Meadow Croft, Watten.
"All grazing type cattle were short of buyer's requirements and many more could have been sold."
