DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (May, 12th) sold 426 store cattle and 2 adult head of breeding cattle.
Bullocks (209) averaged 247.1p and sold to 323.4p per kg for a 235kg Limousin cross from Polly Estate, Inverpolly and £1,490 gross for a 616kg Simmental cross from Kincraig Farm, Invergordon.
Heifers (216) averaged 250.1p and sold to 316.2p per kg for a pen of 291kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Altyre Estate, Forres and £1,400 gross for a pair of 607kg Simmental crosses from Kincraig Farm, Invergordon.
Young bulls (1) sold to 257.1p per kg and £1,080 gross for a 420kg Limousin from Strone Farm, Banavie.
Breeding cattle (2) sold to £1,360 for a Limousin cow with heifer calf at foot from Insh Farm, Spean Bridge.
"The quality of store cattle showed the biggest variation of types and sizes of the season. Most cattle were carrying flesh due to being held inside until now. Lean grazers were scarce and priced accordingly. Quality heifers to finish at handy weights were in particular demand"

OTM prime & feeding bulls (10) averaged 137.2p sold to 177.3p per kg for a 485kg Hereford cross from Glenurquhart Farm, Cromarty and £1,150 gross for a 920kg Limousin from Culrossie Mains, Nigg.
"OTM cattle were mostly leaner today and very keenly bid for to an increase ringside of buyers. Quality fleshy cows were scarce and met an increased demand"
