DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (May, 19th) sold 89 pedigree and commercial Luing cattle at their annual spring breeding sale.
Pedigree bulling heifers (74) averaged £1,587.34 and sold to 3,400gns (Lots 64 & 65) (£3,570.00) twice for 25-month-old heifers from Mr F Scott Renwick, Inverbroom and Mr Farquhar Renwick, Clachan Farm both to Messrs James McCaig Farms, Wester Jawcraig, Falkirk.
Sim/Luing heifers (6) averaged £1,456.00 and sold to 1,780gns (Lots 84 & 85) (£1,869.00) twice for 25 & 23-month-old heifers from Messrs A L & A C McCall, Culmaily Farm, Golspie both to Mr G Gunn, Middleton of Glascune, Kinloch.
Un-registered bulling heifers (7) averaged £1,509.00 and sold to 2,300gns (Lot 94) (£2,415.00) for a 25-month-old heifer from Mr Farquhar Renwick, Clachan Farm to Mr J Sutherland, 37 & 55 Sangomore, Durness.
Bulls (2) sold to 5,000gns (Lot 107) (£5,250) for a 13-month-old bull from Messrs C. C. MacArthur & Co. Nunnerie Farm, Biggar to Messrs B Ridland Ltd, Aikerness, Evie, Orkney.
