Dingwall, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 9th) sold 116 Blackface rams at their PK Nutrition sponsored show and sale.
The judge, Mr I. Macpherson, Stallions Field, Daviot, awarded the champion to a shearling ram from Messrs K. & J. Matheson, Milton of Aberarder, Dores, realising £1100 to Mr D. Mackenzie, The Retreat, Kildary. The reserve champion, a shearling also from Milton of Aberarder, realised £650, to Mr D. Macdonald, 9 Clachan, Isle of Skye.
78 shearlings averaged £363.46 and sold to £1,400 gross from Messrs C & I MacIntyre, Lower Nuide Farm Cottage to Mr M. Morrison, 17 Habost, Ness, Isle of Lewis.
27 aged rams averaged £227.41 and sold to £450 gross for a three shear from Blackford Farm, Croy.
11 tup lambs averaged £136.36 and sold to £480 gross from Tigh N'Ulaidh, Tomatin.
