DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (July, 21st) sold 1,322 store cattle at their 18th anniversary sale sponsored by Conanvet, Ardlair, Conon Bridge.
The Judge, Mr D Moir, Moir Livestock, Cairness chose his overall champion in the show sponsored by Conanvet, and 1st Prize Best Heifer a 435kg, 15 month old Limousin cross from Messrs J Munro & Son, Invercharron, Ardgay which realised £2,300 and sold to Moir Livestock, Cairness.
The reserve champion and 1st Prize Best Bullock was awarded to a 445kg, 12 month old Limousin cross from I Grant Esq, Slattadale, Gairloch which realised £1,350 and sold to Moir Livestock, Cairness.

Bullocks (755) averaged 260.3p (+19.8p on the year) and sold to 357.1p per kg for a 378kg Aberdeen Angus cross from 3 Dounie, Edderton and £1,540 gross for a of 575kg Limousin cross from Woodend, Killearnan.
Heifers (560) averaged 249.4p (+19.4p on the year) and sold to 528.7p per kg and £2,300 gross for a 435kg Limousin cross from Invercharron, Ardgay.
Young bulls (7) averaged 251.6p (+57.1p on the year) and sold to 288.5p per kg for a 305kg Limousin from Corslet Farm, Rosemarkie and £1,600 gross for a 580kg Limousin from Burnthill, Thrumster.
"The anniversary sale was back with a bang this year and was great joy to see faces of old and new around a busy ringside that had that "buzz" we've all sorely missed this last year. A fantastic show of cattle forward was aptly met by a frenzy of bidding from purchasers from not only all over Scotland but across the borders from England too. Trade was well up on the year across the board sending vendors home well and truly satisfied with their days trading."

OTM bulls (5) averaged 116.3p and sold to 167.7p per kg for a 680kg Limousin from Mid Gruinards, Ardgay and £1,140 gross for a 1,140kg Charolais from 15 Glenconon, Uig.
