New season lambs (722) averaged 227.7p (-7.1p) and sold to 247.3p per kg for a pen of 46.5kg Texel crosses from Inveruglas Farm Kingussie and £121.50 gross for a pen of 56kg Texel crosses from The Dell of Killiehuntly, Kingussie.
Feeding sheep (298) sold to £138 gross for Texel ewes from Inshes Farm, Inverness.

“Lambs once again met a firm enquiry and the meat and heavier sorts cashed in at comparable rates with a leaner show forward compared to last week. Lambs with good confirmation would actually be dearer and short of buyer's requirements. The story of the day in the ewe ring is that there was more meat in the Cafeteria refrigerators that was presented to our usual ringside of buyers. Trade was comparable for the leaner end however the meat that was around cashed in at dearer rates with virtually none of the best end sorts around.”
