FORT WILLIAM, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (November, 5th) sold 474 Rams at its annual sale.
"It was certainly a sale of fireworks and bangs where the Blackface tup entry saw the trade set alight from start to finish, with over 60 ‘4 figure' prices achieved."
Blackface ram lambs (74) averaged £564.59 and sold to £3,200 gross from Elmscleugh, Dunbar.
Blackface Shearlings (245) averaged 497.43 and sold to £4,500 gross from Dalchirla Farm, Muthill.
Blackface Two Sears (45) averaged £346.67 and sold to £1,000 gross from Dunalastair Estate.
Blackface Three Shears (26) averaged £342.31 and sold to £800 gross from Dalbuiack, Carrbridge.
Blackface Aged (3) averaged £316.67 and sold to £550 gross from Balrazzie.
Texel Rams (22) averaged £370 and sold to £700 gross from Crookston, Heriot.
Suffolk Rams (1) sold to £200 from Newton of Crathie, Ballater.
Cross Rams (9) averaged £452.22 and sold to £1,000 gross from Balmaglaster, Spean Bridge (Cameron).
Blue Faced Leicester (3) averaged £850 and sold to £1,000 gross from Crookston.
Cheviot Rams (41) averaged £357.32 and sold to £900 gross (twice) from Keppoch Farm, Dundonnell & Balmaglaster (Cameron).
Swale Rams (3) averaged £243.33 and sold to £450 gross from Cara View, Argyll.
