Wick High School Re-opening Tomorrow - Wednesday 1st December 2021 the school conformed today.
Wick Community Campus will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday 1 December 2021) now that interim repairs have been completed following damage caused by Storm Arwen.
The campus includes Newton Park Primary School, Wick High School, and community facilities.
Last week, storm conditions in the area had caused some damage to a section of cladding to the Games Hall area of the campus. Temporary external cladding repairs to the building were completed at the weekend and further fabric inspections have been carried out across the campus, providing assurance for the reopening. Replacement cladding panels are now on order and will be installed on receipt. Future adverse weather conditions and any potential impact as we have seen with Storm Arwen will be actively monitored and appropriate action taken in line with school operating procedures.
The Highland Council have been worked closely with their partners Hub North Scotland (Wick) Ltd and High Life Highland to reopen the campus this week.
Newton Park Primary and Wick High School will also contact parents and carers today.
