Prime heifers (4) averaged 240.1p (-5.6p) and sold to 249.0p per kg for a 570kg Limousin cross from Mountrich Farm, Dingwall selling to Messrs John M Munro Ltd, Dingwall and £1,532.70 gross for a 655kg Limousin cross also from Mountrich Farm, Dingwall.

New season lambs (570) averaged 254.4p (-8.3p) and sold to 275.3p per kg for a pen of 46.5kg Charollais crosses from Greenlands, Arabella and £142 gross for a 60kg Texel cross from Hatton Cottage, Dallas.
Feeding sheep (314) sold to £198 gross for a Texel ewe from Wester Craiglands, Fortrose.
“A smaller show of sheep forward saw anything with a weight about it or been of feed still meeting a firm enquiry throughout. As per the national trend the export sheep were harder to cash and therefore easier on the week. It is paying now more than ever to get your lambs on to feed for them to reach their full potential. Another strong trade greeted the ewe vendors today with power being in seriously short supply. The sale mostly consisted of Hill Cheviots and trade overall would be similar on the week.”
