"Hogg trade followed on from last week's national trend and were easier, however still sharper that what was witnessed in other centres towards the tail end of last week. Heavies remain the hardest commodity to cash whilst export hoggs continue to meet a fair bit of intertest.
The ewe trade just seems to get dearer and dearer! A barbarian head of Blackface and Cheviot ewes ventured down of the hills and would be a good £10 dearer on the week as pen after pen of Hill Cheviots crossed the £100 barrier with ease. Yet again there was no best pure continental ewes forward but many a pen of cross sheep with not a lot of weight to them cashed in at £130 plus, so the question is can you afford to sell your ewes anywhere else?"
