"The Young Farmers Annual Show and Sale of over wintered cattle took centre stage today. Our sincere gratitude must go to our judge this year, renowned cattle showman Mr Michael Robertson, Fodderletter. Unfortunately there was a lack of numbers forward this year, nevertheless the Judge's Champion consigned by Tilly Munro, Invercharron smashed the Centre record into oblivion for a Young Farmer’s calf sold in Dingwall. Her Slattadale bred Limousin cross heifer scaled 545kg with the hammer falling at an incredible £3,000 to show cattle enthusiast Mr Blair Duffton. It was this heifer that also attained the best gross margin difference from buying to selling. The Reserve Champion ticket was found in the homebred section. Step forward Miss Georgina Fraser from Little Croy with her red Limousin heifer. She was later knocked down at £1,300 to Mr Kenny MacIver, 2 Murialehouse Farm and she is intended to be hitting the summer show circuit. We would like to extend our thanks to our generous sponsors Mackenzie Craiglands Ltd, John Munro, Butchers, Animal Health Highland and Highland Leisure Sport.
