"Dingwall and Highland Marts held their annual show and sale of Pedigree Luing Cattle. Judging lay in the hands of Mr Reece Simmers, Backmuir, Keith. An outstanding show of quality was forward, and the champion prize was awarded to a pair of heifers from Messrs McCall, Culmaily. A special thank you must go to Davidson Animal Feeds who again kindly sponsored the show.
Vendors were greeted with a bonanza of a trade which saw the bulling heifer average record an outstanding increase of £431 on the year. Consignments with the traditional "Luing” prefix in their pedigree met a brisk and erratic enquiry for both the females and the breeding bulls. The Sim/Luing heifers forward wouldn't have the same power as normal and they proved slightly harder to cash!”
