"The Great Annual Cheviot Tup Sale at Dingwall Mart was full of a carnival style atmosphere. Fireworks lit the arena and a new centre record was achieved from Borders raider Mr R Runciman, Allanshaws. Allanshaws Ben Nevis a two shear ram by Allanshaws Amen and out of an Inkstack VIP ewe caught the attention of many an onlooker. This lad seemed to have it all, phenomenal character, eyes, body and skin to match. After a ferocious frenzy of bidding from a few participants along the way he was eventually knocked down at £12,000 to Scott and Farquhar Renwick, Inverbroom and Graham McRae, Kintail jointly. Overall the sale was another tremendous success with over 95% clearance and an average of £659 cementing the fact that Dingwall is not only a phenomenal centre for commercial tups but for stud sheep also."
